Charter Spectrum Community Investment Loan Fund has planned to invest $3 million in NUL’s community development financial institution, according to latest reports. Charter Communications, Inc. is a renowned broadband connectivity company and cable operator that serves around 29 million customers in 41 states across the US through its Spectrum brand. The company offers modern full range residential and commercial services including Spectrum Internet TV, Voice and Mobile.

In addition to the investment of $3 million, the company also made an announcement of the investment of $10 million in partnership with National Action Network (NAN) and National Urban League (NUL) for the betterment of black and other minority-owned small businesses. With these investments, the small businesses will be strengthened and long term economic impact will emerge. Additionally, the reports suggest that Charter Spectrum will also fund $3.5 million in PSA value for the promotion of its partners’ loan fund opportunities. It will also make a contribution of $500,000 capacity grant to the NUL to invigorate its CDFI platform including infrastructure, funding for staff and operations.
